Sit back, take a deep breath and relax. A cosy evening by the open fire is a cinch with Ben‘s 3-in-1 features. He humidifies and scents the air in the room, whilst bathing it in the amber light of the fireplace effect. Ben is an air humidifier, aroma diffuser and fireplace effect in one. The essential oils are added directly to the water, ensuring intensive fragrancing. Ben produces an extra-fine mist that is ideally distributed around the room, whilst the Amber Light™ creates a remarkably realistic flame effect that is totally safe and soot free. The strength can be adjusted smoothly from gently flickering flames with a subtle fragrance, to a blazing fire. The removable water tank can be refilled during operation. The illuminated water level indicator and the flame effect can be dimmed or switched off completely to prevent your well-deserved moments of relaxation from being disturbed. Ben will transform any room into a cosy oasis of calm.

How and how often should I clean Ben?

For hygienic reasons and to ensure proper operation, we recommend the following cleaning intervals. Attention: Never immerse the device in water (danger of short-circuit). Daily: Fill the water tank with fresh, cold tap water. If the device is not going to be used for several days, empty the water from the water tank beforehand and if necessary, clean it with a drop of washing-up liquid and a clean cloth. Then fill the water tank with fresh water before putting the device into operation again. Video Cleaning the water tank Every 2 weeks: Remove the water tank, the mist outlet, the mist chamber and the Water Cube™. You can now clean the ultrasonic membrane using a common household descaler. It is important to make sure that the water level inside the device is not higher than 10 mm. Should the water level accidentally exceed 10 mm, contact Stadler Form or a specialist technician immediately. If you are unable to remove all the residues, you can clean the ultrasonic membrane using the cleaning brush (front or back). Please do not attempt to chip limescale deposits off the membrane using a hard object. In the case of stubborn limescale deposits, we recommend repeating the descaling process several times in a row. After descaling, rinse out the lower part and then dry it thoroughly. Clean and descale the water tank. Then put back the water tank, the mist outlet, the mist chamber and the Water Cube™. Regularly as required: To clean the outside, rub with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. At the end of the season: Before putting away the device at the end of the season, carry out descaling as described above. Clean and descale the water tank too. Then clean the device thoroughly inside and out and let it dry completely. Insert a new Water Cube™ so that your device will be ready to be put into operation at the start of the next season.

What type of water is suitable for Ben?

The ultrasonic technology turns the water into mist. In the process, the limescale in the water is converted into minute particles which are then deposited as a white film on furniture. That is why we recommend using an anticalc cartridge which will reduce the limescale content in the water. If the water is hard (14–21 °dH) or very hard (from 21 °dH), you will have to change the cartridge very frequently in order to prevent the occurrence of the white film. Ben should not be operated using decalcified water from a water softener which is based on the principle of ion exchange (salt is added to the water) either. The salt contained in the water can also accumulate around the device in the form of white dust. For that reason, we recommend using an evaporator if you have extremely hard water or decalcified water. Alternatively, distilled water can also be used. Video distilled water

Fragrances for use with Ben

You can use any commercially available fragrances, aromatic oils or essential oils with Ben. It is important to use oils which are as natural as possible and do not contain alcohol, such as our pure essential oils. We recommend adding 2-3 drops to the water. You can, however, use more or less if you want to. If you add more, it is important to clean your Ben on a weekly basis in order to prevent the build-up of deposits. In addition, the intensity of the fragrance is influenced by various factors: – Type of fragrance (synthetic, natural, ingredients, etc.) – Room temperature and relative humidity (the more humid the air, the stronger the fragrance will be) – Room size (the smaller the room, the more intense the fragrance) The intensity of a fragrance will depend on the fragrance itself. Natural fragrances are often more discreet than synthetic ones and certain ingredients are more dominant than others. It should also be remembered that first and foremost, the device is a humidifier. Its main focus is to provide humidity in the room and because of that, the intensity of its fragrance will never be as strong as the fragrance from an aroma diffuser.

Why do water droplets form on or around my Ben?

If you notice droplets (or other signs of moisture) on or around the device, this is condensed water from the humidifier. This means that the air can no longer absorb the moisture from the humidifier. Please reduce the humidification output to such an extent that droplets are no longer visible.
