The ultrasonic technology turns the water into mist. In the process, the limescale in the water is converted into minute particles which are then deposited as a white film on furniture. That is why we recommend using an anticalc cartridge which will reduce the limescale content in the water. If the water is hard (14 - 21 °dH) or very hard (from 21 °dH), you will have to change the cartridge very frequently in order to prevent the occurrence of the white film. Eva should not be operated using decalcified water from a water softener which is based on the principle of ion exchange (salt is added to the water) either. The salt contained in the water can also accumulate around the device in the form of white dust. For that reason, we recommend using an evaporator if you have extremely hard water or decalcified water. Alternatively, distilled water can also be used. Video distilled water
If you notice droplets (or other signs of moisture) on or around the device, this is condensed water from the humidifier. This means that the air can no longer absorb the moisture from the humidifier. Please reduce the humidification output to such an extent that droplets are no longer visible.
You can use any commercially available fragrances, aromatic oils or essential oils with Eva. It is important to use oils which are as natural as possible and do not contain alcohol, such as our pure essential oils. We recommend putting 2-3 drops in the fragrance container. The fragrance should not be added directly to the water. The intensity of the fragrance is influenced by various factors:– Type of fragrance (synthetic, natural, ingredients, etc.)– Room temperature and relative humidity (the more humid the air, the stronger the fragrance will be)– Room size (the smaller the room, the more intense the fragrance) The intensity of a fragrance will depend on the fragrance itself. Natural fragrances are often more discreet than synthetic ones and certain ingredients are more dominant than others. It should also be remembered that first and foremost, the device is a humidifier. Its main focus is to provide humidity in the room and because of that, the intensity of its fragrance will never be as strong as the fragrance from an aroma diffuser.
All devices with a production date of May 2019 (SN number 1905 xxxxx, see the rating plate on the bottom of the device) or later are equipped with new technology and therefore have a float switch. Please start off by checking that the float switch (red arrow) can move up and down. It may be that it has become stuck due to excessive limescale/dirt. Descale the water tray regularly in order to ensure fault-free operation. Please rinse out Eva’s water tray thoroughly with warm water and make sure that the heating plate and the membranes are free from limescale. Descale the water tray, if necessary. Make sure that no water gets into the air opening in the water tray. Fill the water tank and start Eva again. If the red LED still lights up, please remove the anticalc cartridge (located on the inside of the water tank, attached to the water tank cover) and leave Eva running without the anticalc cartridge for 30 minutes. If Eva still does not work properly after doing this, please contact the retailer from whom you purchased your Eva so that you can have her repaired.
For hygienic reasons and to ensure proper operation, we recommend the following cleaning intervals. Attention: Never immerse the device in water (danger of short-circuit). Daily: Fill the water tank with fresh, cold tap water. If the device is not going to be used for several days, empty the water from the water tray beforehand and if necessary, clean it with a drop of washing-up liquid and a clean cloth. Fill the water tank with fresh water before putting the device into operation again. Video cleaning the water tank Every 2 weeks: First remove the water tank, the mist chamber and the Water Cube™. Clean the inside of the water tray thoroughly using a drop of washing-up liquid, warm water and a soft, clean cloth, sponge or brush. If there are limescale deposits in the water tank, use a descaling solution diluted with water (for the mixture ratio, see the manufacturer’s instructions). Then rinse out the water tray thoroughly with cold water and put back the water tank, the mist chamber and the Water Cube™. Video CleaningImportant: the heating plate should also be descaled regularly. If there is a build-up of limescale, annoying high-frequency noises can occur. At least once a month: Carry out descaling in accordance with the instructions for use. Cleaning video Regularly as required: To clean the outside, rub with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. At the end of the season: Before putting away the device at the end of the season, carry out descaling as described above. Then clean it thoroughly inside and out and let it dry completely. Insert a new Water Cube™ so that your device will be ready to be put into operation at the start of the next season.
